Firefox 3.0.4 Hang-up
Linux Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex comes with new version of Firefox. Firefox 3 with the latest package from Ubuntu repository is Firefox 3.0.4. As default browser, I just agree to use the Firefox 3.0.4 since long time I’ve been with Firefox to browse the world. I always happy to use it and ignore some other browser like Google Chrome, safari or the brother of Firefox -seamonkey-.
But now, when I use the Firefox 3.0.4 I am unhappy and make me sick. The Firefox 3 always hang-up when I open 5 tabs. The CPU utilization almost in 100% with average in 98%. I got this value after run top in the terminal and you could see the picture how greedy the Firefox eat my CPU. I never experience like this before with the previous Firefox on Hardy Heron but on Intrepid Ibex does. I am desperate and need to solve the problem even to replace the Firefox 3 with others. I need to try other web browser and review one by one to meet the optimum one.
By the way, please share to me how to fix this problem on Firefox 3. If you have good idea to reduce the CPU utilization by Firefox 3, I am very appreciated.
Now, it’s time to apt-get other web browser.
have you tried uninstalling firefox, clean it up and reinstall?

Ganti pakai IE aja, jadi IE numpang di Ubuntu khan jadi fenomena hee..hee..

Just remove what you recently add in sysctl.conf And everything will just fine

same conclusion with me..but problem still exist even I reboot also my intrepid box.
FF 3.0.4 stable with my mac, eh lagi gak ngomongin mac ya..jd malu..tar ah nyoba FF di PPC ubuntu (mac lagee) pff
emang sedih, FF3.0.4 emang sangat lambat, apalagi klu sdh buka tab banyak
