Google Hack Exploit Vulnerability in Internet Explorer

The code used in the recent Google hack to exploit a vulnerability in Internet Explorer browser from Microsoft has been published online, raising the possibility of other attacks.

According to Chief Technology Officer George McAfee Kurtz said that company researchers have seen references to the code in the mailing lists and has been published in at least one website.

An attacker could use the bug to take control of the system by tricking a user into visiting a fraudulent Web site said.

“The public release of exploit code increases the possibility of widespread attacks using the vulnerability in Internet Explorer,” said Kurtz.

“The now public computer code may help cybercriminals craft attacks that use the vulnerability to compromise Windows systems. Popular penetration testing tools are already being updated to include this exploit. This attack is especially deadly on older systems that are running XP and Internet Explorer 6.”

Microsoft released a security advisory on Thursday to admit that Internet Explorer can be used to allow execution of remote code and said it released an out-of-cycle review of the failure.

“Currently, we are aware of limited, targeted attacks attempting to use this vulnerability against Internet Explorer 6. We have not seen attacks on other versions of Internet Explorer. We will continue to monitor the threat situation and update this alert, if the situation changes, “said the updated security.

The decision was taken very seriously by organizations worldwide, with the German government advises its citizens to use an alternative browser to Internet Explorer until the vulnerability is patched.

  1. Chinese hackers had some will to be able to attack a U.S. Company. I know that Google Inc will be able to stop incoming attacks.
