iPhone 3GS on First Look
Apple recently unveiled the third generation of its popular mobile phone, the iPhone 3GS.
At first glance, it is almost impossible to distinguish 3GS and 3G, but under the hood, Apple has made a number of improvements such as storage, a high resolution camera, faster processor, better data rate , stereo Bluetooth and a magnetometer to allow the compass. Despite the extra grunt behind the 3GS, acknowledges that Apple has managed to improve battery life as well.

Apparently, the 3GS screen also has a stain resistant, but to be honest, we could not much difference, and after a few minutes of use will be to clean the screen with a cloth or bag, like all the others around the touch screen.
The latest version of the operating system also brings a host of new features, many of which are available to owners of the original and the iPhone 3G, including new concepts of research, voice recording, video recording, MMS and ability to cut and paste text.
Of course, some people argue that Apple is not something new, just to catch up with what the majority of today’s smartphones can already do, but regardless of these new features make it an even greater threat on the market as a society now has enough features for the iPhone as a viable business.
Perhaps two of the biggest changes in this regard are the ability to use the landscape keyboard in any application – which is sorely lacking in previous iterations – and the introduction of cutting and pasting. When you have both hands available for the type, landscape design is almost always much easier, however, is the length of the selection process, cut or copy and paste the text to be somewhat laborious. However, we can not really think of a better way that Apple could do in these circumstances.
Apple has done an excellent job of supporting the integration of MMS, so that the multimedia blend well in the message thread with the system used for SMS. Adding images is as simple as clicking on the small camera icon that appears when you type a message and after taking a picture or looking for an existing activity, to be embedded in the message.
Another improvement is to increase the speed of HSPA support to this 7.2Mbit / s, and if you are in the areas that you can really make a difference. Similarly, the processor provides a faster iPhone and the slick little interface smooth, particularly in the resource heavy applications like Google Earth.
In terms of the camera, shot a 3-megapixel resolution and the addition of video recording is a long way to transform it into something usable, but the absence of a function zoom and flash means it is still behind most competitors.
The new search function is an asset, especially for large users to store a large number of contacts, emails and bookmarks, allowing you to search for a word in the entire device in one place.
Apple has also jumped into the voice arena, with the launch of 3GS, very useful to introduce a voice recorder and control. The recorder works well and allows you to send records in an MMS or email.
Voice control is very good and just keep the start button for several seconds. Insofar as there is little background noise, voice recognition is fairly accurate, but take the time to learn the controls, and lack of capacity to train the software is something of a deficit.
Apple has also introduced the detention, which allows their use to own an iPhone 3G as a modem for your PC. However, at least here in the UK, this functionality has been crippled by the mobile operator with the introduction of an additional detention. According to O2, the iPhone, despite the unlimited data service on the phone, if you want to attach to your iPhone, you must purchase a pin for a new £ 15 per month, offers users up to 3 GB data. In this case, most people would be better to just buy a 3G dongle.
At first glance, the addition of the compass May be all you can really use, and as an application in May that be true. However, its potential to be integrated into other applications is very broad, the most obvious mapping and navigation – for example, if you double tap the “locate me” icon in the Google Maps icon also indicates the address of place to help make their way in the search for just that much easier. It also helps to allow for GPS navigation systems to be brought to the iPhone.
Therefore, the 3GS iPhone is faster and complete a number of useful new features, but it is worth the upgrade? In the UK, O2 has an exclusive agreement with Apple for the iPhone and the operator has a high price to 3GS and does not offer a free upgrade, as it did last time.
As many of these new features are available on the previous iPhone OS 3.0 through the update, if you are only a few months of his contract probably is not worth the upgrade. But if you are a fan of the iPhone and his contract is up for renewal may be a value for your money.
However, for those who think that the new iPhone is too expensive, has recently launched the Nokia N97 and the upcoming HTC hero might be a good alternative and can suit your pocket, much better.

a few mates of mine are into this stuff so i will send ‘em this way
I’ve used it for a few weeks now. It’s better than the built-in Nav system in my car. The directions have been spot on! The screen is easy to read. The unit is very intuitive. Plus free lifetime traffic. It’s a combination that’s tough to beat!
Excellent product!!
Does anybody know which kind of video recordsdata are supported? I keep in mind the Instinct solely may dl 3gp using opera mini. I downloaded the twist ap, possibly that is the problem? How can I watch videos from websites apart from youtube? Which file sorts? Often I’m given the option of 3gp or mpeg4. Cannot get either to work. Thank you for your time! Damn I want I used to be eligible for the upgrade to EVO!
