AMD Released Six-core Opteron

Last time we know the Intel processor vendor will release 8-core of CPU, now AMD has introduced a version of six of its Opteron server chip designed for the most demanding of working data, such as databases and server consolidation using virtualisation. Code Istanbul six-core chip is available immediately, a few months ahead of schedule. It is expected to appear in four systems from Dell, HP, IBM and Sun in the near future. Istanbul provides up to 34 percent more than last year’s performance in Shanghai quad-core chip running at the same clock speed as AMD.
