Well, Finally after think many times and days I decide to upgrade my Ubuntu Linux Hardy Heron 8.04 to Ubuntu Linux Intrepid Ibex 8.10. By default Ubuntu Linux 8.04 LTS will not offer a upgrade to 8.10. This is because the 8.04 LTS version is a long term support release and 8.10 is a regular release. If you want to do something with root permission on the console you have to type sudo before the command. sudo” means superuser do. “sudo” will prompt for “Password:”. Please specify user password As you have noticed during the Ubuntu installation there was no question about the root password, as you might have been used to see during other Linux distribution installation process.
