The Linux Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex 8.10 already launch since 1st November 2008. Download ISO image of Intrepid already available on local mirror, So you could get faster speed when download. If you connected with Speedy, you could go here to get more faster because in my experience -I’m using Speedy- it will get 80KB/s. Since this is CD, it will takes time 3 hours.

Yes, I already download the ISO image for desktop i386 and alternate desktop i386 version. I already burn it and try it on my laptop Acer Aspire 3684, everything goes well but the atheros wifi still not support directly by Ubuntu Intrepid. The atheros wifi need to build and compile driver to use.

And as usual, I would like to order free Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex. And Shipit already open the chance to get the CD, You could pre-order to the ship it here. For now, I order 5 pcs for desktop and 1 pc for server version. Let see, when they will arrive in my home.

Last time I have been write article to activate the Atheros wireless Acer Aspire on Ubuntu 8.04. But after upgrade to the latest kernel of Ubuntu 8.04, The Atheros wireless was gone. Based on uname -a, The kernel upgrade do on 21st October 2008, its mean after upgrade I can not use my atheros wireless. This happen did not notice by me until I got order to check the Wireless connection on the client. I could not connect to the wireless network due to my atheros wireless on acer aspire was disable. So, I need to reactivate again the atheros wireless on my laptop acer aspire.

Seperti sudah dibahas sebelumnya di beberapa posting saya di blog ini tentang squid proxy server. Maka kali ini saya akan mencoba untuk berbagi cara bagaimana membersihkan cache proxy squid atau istilah kerennya How to Clear Cache Proxy Squid. Tak ada cara instalasi atau setting proxy squid server di postingan ini karena kamu bisa baca semuanya di sini dan di sini.

Untuk memberikan gambaran juga sedikit mengingatkan apa sih squid proxy server itu?, Squid adalah salah satu cache server yang tugasnya secara global menyimpan segala aktifitas surfing internet di jairngan kita, sehingga tentunya akan menghemat bandwidth yang dipakai karena saat kita browsing ke suatu situs maka situs tersebut akan disimpan ke dalam cache Proxy kita, sehingga saat orang lain atau kita sendiri membuka situs yang sama maka akan terasa lebih cepat dan ini akan menghemat bandwidth.

Seiring waktu, cache yang disimpan dalam proxy squid server sudah terlalu banyak dan ini perlu dibersihkan atau mungkin saja cache-nya rusak, karena jika ini dibiarkan maka kecepatan browsing akan terganggu dan bisa dikatakan melambat. Lalu bagaimana cara meng-clear cache proxy squid?

Maaf kalau pakai judul bahasa Inggris, karena awalnya tutorial sederhana ini mau di tulis pakai bahasa internasional. Tetapi setelah dipikir ulang, lebih baik ditulis pakai bahasa Indonesia untuk sharing knowledge sesama anak bangsa.

Dalam tutorial ini akan ditunjukkan bagaimana samba membolehkan antar user untuk saling berbagi file dalam jaringan komputer Lokal atau LAN. Samba diset untuk tiap user bisa read dan write, jadi tidak disarankan untuk administrator yang membutuhkan previledge setiap user berbeda-beda. Nantinya user akan diperlakukan sebagai guest sehingga tidak ada prompt untuk memasukkan password.
Jadi sekali lagi, karena tidak adanya prompt untuk memasukkan user/password maka konfigurasi ini hanya diinstall di jaringan LAN yang benar-benar saling percaya antar usernya.

Banyak keuntungan jika kita saling berbagi file terutama di jaringan kantor atau yang lebih membumi lagi adalah jaringan wireless rt/rw-net seperti yang saya implementasikan saat ini. Dengan saling berbagi file tentunya akan menghemat bandwidth karena bisa jadi saat user ingin mendownload mp3 lagu terbaru sudah ada di server tapi diharamkan menyediakan file video bokep untuk di download oleh user/klien. Apalagi menyediakan foto Gadis telanjang, foto bugil gadis sma telanjang, foto gadis kampus dari situs porno atau foto-foto bugil artis telanjang. Haram itu hukumnya, apalagi di bulan yg suci ini.

MP3 is a proprietary and the famous format but we should to pay a fee when you want your player to read it. In Wikipedia, we can read a lot information regarding mp3 format.

Then Ogg Vorbis is a solution. Ogg vorbis is an open source format. Sadly it is not as popular format, and I don’t know which player can read the Ogg vorbis format unless the computer.

And now, How to convert mp3 file to Ogg?, First we will install a little script made by Nathan Walp: mp32ogg

sudo apt-get install mp32ogg

It’s done, now to convert a file, open a terminal and do:

mp32ogg –quality=10 –delete –rename=%t /home/simplyeko/music/*.mp3

Warning: it will delete the original file!! (remove “–delete” if you don’t want).
